Project Background

The initial impetus for Project Moi Kitchen + Bar was quite straightforward. The client wanted to create a stylish outdoor dining space that would stand out locally. They approached Glitzcamp after seeing past tent structure projects, especially dome structures on social media.

In the initial communication, the client expressed several clear requirements:

  • The structure had to be unique, not a conventional sunshade.
  • It needed to be suitable for the local year-round hot and rainy weather, with adequate ventilation and waterproofing.
  • It needed to be quick to set up.
  • The budget also had to be controlled.
  • Most importantly, it had to be beautiful, with lighting and ambiance, attracting people to take photos and check in.

After understanding these requirements, the Glitzcamp team recommended a 10-meter-diameter dome structure. Throughout the process, Glitzcamp repeatedly confirmed the details of the plan with the client, from the structure to the customized layout drawings. Ultimately, they not only ensured efficient construction (completed in two weeks) but also perfectly met the client’s expectations for a photogenic, sophisticated, and unique space.

Why Choose Luxury Tents for Restaurants?

Compared to traditional brick-and-mortar buildings, tent restaurants are not only more flexible but also quicker to set up and restricted by terrain. They are ideal for creating outdoor restaurants, pop-up projects, or off-site dining events.

For restaurant owners, choosing a luxury tent to build a tent restaurant means achieving a unique space design at a lower cost and faster speed. It offers advantages in practicality and sustainable operation, enhancing brand value and social media sharing. This aligns perfectly with the initial motivations of our clients.

Benefits of Tented Restaurants

Compared to traditional buildings, domes not only meet the requirements of structural strength and aesthetics but also enhance the dining experience. Let’s see how domes can improve your return on investment.

Expand Dining Space

The circular dome structure is pillar-free, creating a completely open space. There are no restrictions on placing round tables, long tables, or temporary decorations. The abundant vertical space also allows for various decorative applications. For holidays or peak season events, it can be quickly expanded by connecting passageways. The modular design allows for rapid setup, instantly increasing seating capacity. Dome Restaurant in Malaysia expands its restaurant during peak season to accommodate more customers.

Enhance Overall Atmosphere

Whether natural light streams in during the day or ambient lighting is used at night, it provides an excellent setting for customers to take photos and share on social media. Suitable for mid-to-high-end themed restaurants, private banquets, and outdoor wedding dining. The interior can also be decorated with drapes, chandeliers, and plant walls to create a customized style.

24/7 Operation, Stable and Reliable

Glitzcamp’s tented restaurants utilize fire-resistant, waterproof, and wind-resistant materials. The steel frame and PVC tarpaulin ensure stable operation even in extreme weather conditions such as high temperatures, typhoons, and torrential rain.

The cover can also be adjusted according to the season. Windows and ventilation fans are added in summer, and insulation sheets are added in winter for warmth. Air conditioning can also be used in extreme temperatures. This truly makes it usable year-round.

Construction Challenges and Problem Solving

During the implementation of Project Moi Kitchen + Bar Tent, we encountered not only routine setup tasks but also a series of challenges related to the environment, climate, and terrain. Glitzcamp made several technical and structural optimizations.

1. Tropical Rainy Climate

The project location, Purok 5 Lunotan, Civoleg, Gingoog City, Philippines, is located in a tropical monsoon climate zone, characterized by high temperatures and abundant rainfall year-round, high humidity, and rapid climate changes.

Solution:

We selected a high-strength PVC waterproof tarpaulin design for this project, incorporating triangular windows and a top ventilation fan. The tarpaulin offers excellent waterproof, UV-resistant, and mildew-resistant properties. Special treatment was applied to the seams to prevent rainwater seepage. The triangular windows and top ventilation fan design ensure good air circulation and prevent stuffiness.

2. What if strong winds occur?

The Philippines experiences typhoon season annually, making strong winds a critical consideration.

Solution:

To ensure structural safety, we used hot-dip galvanized steel pipes, which are high-strength and corrosion-resistant. The structure underwent professional simulation testing and can withstand wind speeds of up to 120 km/h. High-strength bolts were used at connection points to prevent structural swaying or loosening due to wind. The outer tarpaulin layer was also reinforced with increased tensile strength to effectively prevent cracking in strong winds.

3. Soft Foundation, Complex Terrain

The actual site for the project is a mixture of grass and soft soil, making it unsuitable for concrete foundations or anchor bolts, as in urban areas.

Solution:

We provided our client with a modular deck system. This system requires no rigid foundation and can be stably erected on sand, grass, and even slightly undulating terrain. The deck system uses an adjustable support structure to ensure the tent is level and provides excellent drainage.

Summary

Project Moi Kitchen + Bar perfectly showcases the potential of tent restaurants in modern dining spaces. From technological adaptations to cope with the tropical climate of the Philippines to rapid setup in complex terrain, the entire project demonstrates Glitzcamp’s expertise in high-end tent architecture.
