Case Background

Japan’s seaside areas have become a popular destination for glamping tourism. In 2024, the scale of Japan’s glamping IMARC Group reached 164 million US dollars. The area is easily accessible. It is about 17 minutes by bus from JR Hakui Station. It is about 5 minutes from Honjojiguchi bus station.
The client identified this market. He hopes to create a beach glamping resort by combining a luxury dome with the beautiful scenery of Japan’s seaside.
In Hakui, Japan, beautiful beaches, ancient temples and shrines, and space museums are popular. The beach is long and is a summer resort during the hot summer. The average temperature is the highest in August, about 26.4 °C. Glitzcamp had careful communication with this old client and built a dome for this old client in Hakui, Japan.

Various Leisure Activities

There are many activities to try while glamping near the beach. The waves on Japanese beaches are very good, so you can try surfing here. Don’t worry if you don’t have experience. There are local coaches to guide for beginners. You can also check out other interesting activities such as diving, sailing, beach volleyball, etc. The beach brings you endless fun for beach glamping.

The Perfect Match Between Dome and Beach Glamping

Why did Glitzcamp choose a dome for glamping on the beach? This is due to the unique design advantages of the dome itself. With the blessing of modern technology, the dome successfully provides a haven for tourists on the beach.

Design

It would be a pity not to see the fiery sunrise during beach glamping. The design of the dome fully considers the needs of tourists who glam on the beach. Glitzcamp adopts a partially transparent design, so you can see the sunrise on the beach in a dome without suffering from the cold sea breeze in the morning. When you need to rest, you can also pull up the double-track curtains to protect your privacy.

Complete Supporting Facilities

All dome rooms are equipped with insulation sheets, so you don’t have to worry about the biting cold wind in winter nights. Air conditioning is also available in summer to prevent the high temperature at noon from causing you discomfort. At the same time, the camping site also prepares a variety of entertainment and leisure facilities to ensure a great experience.

Construction Challenges

Glamping at the beach in Japan inevitably faces various complex and severe challenges.

Natural Weather Challenges

Glamping at the beach will inevitably face weather challenges. Strong winds are one of the primary problems. Strong winds pose a huge threat to the building structure of the campsite.
General cabin tents can withstand strong winds of 100km/h. Glitzcamp considered comprehensively and felt that the streamlined design of the dome is very suitable for withstanding strong winds. The maximum wind load of its structure is 120km/h.

Because the campsite is close to the sea, the sea breeze will have a continuous erosion effect on the building materials of the campsite.
Glitzcamp uses a galvanized/painted steel frame, which can effectively resist the erosion of seawater salt. The outer cloth covering is PVC tarpaulin. The service life of the transparent part is 1-3 years, and the service life of the light-shielding part is 5-8 years. The outer cloth adopts a split design. When your transparent tarpaulin turns yellow, it can be removed and replaced separately.

Environmental Requirements

To avoid damaging the vegetation on the beach and prevent sand from entering the tent, the team adopted a unique deck design. The deck raises the tent itself to avoid extensive damage to the vegetation growth area.

The team uses a recyclable metal steel frame. After the life of the beach glamping campsite ends, it can be easily recycled and reused. The Glitzcamp project team fully fulfilled its environmental responsibilities while meeting the needs of campsite construction.

Summary

After discussions with old customers in Japan, Glitzcamp’s professional team built a beach glamping campsite in Hakui, Japan. The Japanese seaside is a must-visit summer resort with a variety of recreational activities. Glitzcamp chose the dome product for the campsite after considering the weather and environmental protection requirements. It achieved a win-win situation in terms of economic and environmental benefits.
