Case Background: Glamping in the Philippines

The Philippines has a typical monsoon rainforest climate, with high temperatures, heavy rain, high humidity, and frequent typhoons. These natural conditions pose a considerable challenge to building a tent house. The client chose a unique location in Baguio City, cleverly integrating the glamping experience with the local culture and natural landscape.
The camping site is near Good Shepherd, a famous landmark in Baguio City. Good Shepherd not only attracts many tourists with its unique architectural style, but is also famous for the black plum jam it produces. It only takes a few steps to reach Mineral View Park. Not far from the tent house, the botanical garden, The Mansion and Wright Park are all famous attractions that cannot be missed in Baguio. They showcase the charm of the natural ecology, architectural art and historical culture of the Philippines. This is why the client chose to build a camping tent house at this location.

Dome Tent House Creates Perfect Accommodation

There are many advantages to using a dome as a tent house. Its unique design and complete facilities create convenience for guests. The design is cleverly balanced, allowing guests to experience the magnificence and tranquility of nature up close.

Spacious and Comfortable Living Space

Tent houses have spacious interiors with a total area of 29 square meters, providing guests with ample room for activities. The tent house is equipped with 2 queen-size beds. The tent house for adults can easily accommodate 4 people. Whether traveling with family or friends, everyone has enough space to rest.

Barbecue Fun

A spacious outdoor area is specially designed for guests, providing a place for barbecue lovers. It is also equipped with comfortable tables and chairs and a cozy fire pit. The barbecue area is surrounded by lush greenery, and the mountain scenery in the distance is looming. Guests can sit around the warm fire pit, prepare delicious barbecue food by themselves, and experience the fun of barbecue.

Complete Sanitary Facilities

Bathroom facilities are located in the big tent house. The bathroom interior is modern and well-planned, including all necessary sanitary facilities. For example, a clean toilet and a fully functional bidet. More importantly, the bathroom is equipped with a hot shower area to ensure a steady supply of hot water. After a day of exploring the Philippines, guests can enjoy a warm shower to completely relieve the fatigue of the journey.

Modern Conveniences

The house tents are equipped with a 43-inch smart TV and 300mbps high-speed WiFi to meet travelers’ needs for entertainment and network connectivity. Air conditioning and solar exhaust fans ensure comfort and fresh air. In addition, there is a spacious parking lot outside the tent house for self-driving travelers.

Immersive Mountain View Experience

The dome tent house adopts a partially transparent design. This design not only brings plenty of natural light to the interior space, but also allows guests to enjoy the magnificent scenery outside directly from the tent house. You can feel the warmth of the sun without leaving the tent. Lying on the comfortable bed, you can look up and see the stars. Let natural light and beautiful scenery become part of the interior decoration.
We also fully consider the privacy needs of guests. Just gently draw the curtains to instantly create a completely enclosed private world. The design of the curtains can effectively block the view from the outside world. It ensures that guests can enjoy the natural beauty while having complete privacy protection.

Tent House Building Challenges

Glitzcamp tailors house tents for customers to live in according to the climate of the Philippines. Whether it is hot or rainy season, tent houses can provide travelers with an ideal shelter.

High-temperature Environment Challenge

In tropical climates, high temperature is a major challenge that must be faced in the construction of tent houses. To ensure the comfort of the indoor environment, Glitzcamp uses an efficient air conditioning system. The air conditioner can not only quickly reduce the indoor temperature and create a cool environment. It also has a humidity regulation function to effectively prevent the discomfort caused by high temperatures. We are also equipped with solar ventilation fans to keep the air fresh and flowing by circulating the indoor air.

Humidity Problem

High humidity places strict demands on the materials of the tent. To solve this problem, we use high-quality PVC tarpaulin as the main covering material for the tent. The surface of the PVC tarpaulin is smooth, and water droplets are not easy to stay on. At the same time, it has excellent waterproof performance and can effectively prevent rain penetration. It also has good moisture-proof and mildew-proof functions, and can keep the structure of the tarpaulin intact and the internal environment dry even in a long-term high humidity environment. Its service life is 5-8 years. If you need higher quality, you can choose PVDF tarpaulin, but you also need to increase your budget.

Typhoon Activity

In the face of frequent typhoon activity in the Philippines, the structural stability of the house tent became a top priority during the construction process. We use a strong and durable Q235 steel frame as the basic support structure of the tent. Q235 steel is known for its high strength and excellent wind resistance. The surface treatment can be hot-dip galvanizing or electroplating + powder spraying to make the frame better moisture-proof and mildew-proof. It provides guests with a haven that is both beautiful and safe.

Summary

Glitzcamp successfully overcame the challenges of the natural environment, such as high temperature, high humidity and typhoon activity, and built two tent houses for customers. The unique natural environment and cultural landscape of the Philippines provide a unique accommodation experience.
