Case Background
When people think of an eco-resort, they often imagine a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature and eco-friendly designs. These resorts not only preserve the natural environment but also offer accommodations that blend with nature, such as wooden cabins, bamboo houses, and earth huts. In recent years, more eco-resorts have started using luxury tents to create a unique and sustainable lodging experience.
Shanyin Xijiang Resort is one of them. It sits on a hillside, just 500 meters from Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, the largest Miao ethnic village in the world. Known for its traditional stilted wooden houses, vibrant cultural performances, rich ethnic traditions, and stunning natural scenery, Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village has been recognized as one of the “Top 10 Rural Destinations in the World” by the United Nations World Tourism Organization and the Pacific Asia Travel Association.
The Benefits of Using Luxury Tents for Eco Resort Accommodations
Tents today are no longer just lightweight gear that fits in a backpack and serves as a temporary shelter. They have evolved into sturdy, eco lodges that offer the same level of durability as traditional buildings.
Shanyin Xijiang Resort, in partnership with Glitzcamp, has introduced 14 high-quality, sustainable luxury tents to provide comfortable accommodations for guests. Curious about how these tents enhance the resort experience? Let’s take a closer look!
Stable and Safe
At Shanyin Xijiang Resort, Glitzcamp designed the luxury tents with a reinforced steel frame, making them strong enough to withstand winds up to level 10. The tents also feature a triple-peak roof design, which not only creates more indoor space but also improves drainage, ensuring better protection and durability in all weather conditions.
Spacious and Comfortable
We understand that in a beautiful natural setting, every bit of space is valuable. That’s why Glitzcamp designed the luxury tents at Shanyin Xijiang Resort with an open layout, free of support columns or unnecessary dividers, making the most of the available space.
Inside, guests will find cozy beds, spacious sofas, large storage cabinets, and even a separate wet and dry bathroom. This thoughtful design ensures a comfortable and home-like stay while staying close to nature.
Quickly Put into Operation
Glitzcamp’s tents are designed with a prefabricated structure, making production simple and efficient without the need for complex processes. Once the design is finalized, we can complete manufacturing in just 20 days.
The tent components are also easy to transport after being disassembled, allowing them to be delivered to remote or challenging locations like Shanyin Xijiang Resort. Once on-site, they can be quickly assembled, ensuring a smooth and efficient setup.
Preserve the Original Terrain Ecology
Eco-resorts are often built in beautiful natural settings, and using traditional construction methods for accommodation can permanently damage the environment, which goes against the idea of an “eco-friendly” resort with nature.
Luxury tents, on the other hand, are low-impact structures. They don’t require permanent foundations; a simple platform is enough to provide stability. Plus, if the tents need to be removed or relocated, they won’t leave lasting damage to the environment. Using luxury tents for accommodations helps minimize the impact on nature, leaving the smallest ecological footprint.
Versatile
The luxury tents designed by Glitzcamp combine traditional and modern elements, making them flexible for different space needs. Inside, the tents are spacious and can be arranged in various layouts to suit different purposes. They can serve as comfortable and luxurious accommodations, but with a wider entrance and the addition of neat tables and chairs, they can easily be transformed into a dining area or other public spaces.
Affordable Cost
Unlike the traditional wooden or bamboo cabins used in eco-resorts, which require complex and hard-to-process materials, luxury tents are made from lightweight and efficient materials. Their cost is significantly lower than that of traditional accommodations. Building wooden cabins or treehouses often requires skilled labor, which makes it more expensive. On the other hand, the components and structure of luxury tents are simple, and 2 to 3 untrained adults can set them up in just half a day. This reduces both labor and time costs on-site.
Easy to Maintain
Wooden or bamboo structures are more likely to be damaged by termites and mold over time, and they can rot, requiring regular maintenance. On the other hand, Glitzcamp’s luxury tents have frames that are professionally treated to resist rust, ensuring durability. The tent fabric is UV-resistant, 100% waterproof, mold-resistant, and self-cleaning. For both large components and smaller parts, we use materials that require less maintenance and have lower long-term costs, reducing the need for upkeep as much as possible.
Outcome
After Shanyin Xijiang Resort was built and went through six months of trial operation, it officially opened. The average price of a tent room is over 1,000 RMB. According to the resort manager, Zhang Zhang, in the first year of operation, the resort hosted over 5,000 visitors. During peak season, the occupancy rate reached over 80%.
