The client is an immigrant who settled in Costa Rica in South America several years ago. Costa Rica is famous for its rich natural landscape and unique ecosystem. So the client wanted to build Costa Rica luxury resorts. When the client found Glitzcamp, we recommended dome tents considering the changeable climate and complex terrain of Costa Rica.
Despite some trading, production and transportation challenges, we overcame them and the project went smoothly. We planned the logistics routes to ensure that the materials could be delivered to the construction site safely and on time. The success of this project not only proves the professional ability of the company team, but also adds a unique charm to the natural environment of Costa Rica.
We always take customer satisfaction as the criterion for measuring project success.
Case Background: Glamping in Costa Rica
Costa Rica, a country in Central America, has a desirable tropical and subtropical climate. Its climate is characterized by four seasons like spring, and the temperature does not change much throughout the year. The annual average temperature in the capital San Jose is as low as 15℃ and as high as 26℃. The mild climate makes Costa Rica an ideal destination for global tourism and ecological adventure.
The rainy season is from April to December. Although the rainy season is long, it has not hindered the development of its tourism industry. Costa Rica in the rainy season presents a different scene, with more lush rainforests, more spectacular waterfalls, and more turbulent rivers. Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is a small town on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. Surrounded by dense rainforests and pristine beaches that have not been overdeveloped, the town is a paradise for surfers and nature lovers. Visitors can also experience the unique indigenous cultures of Bribri and Cabécar.
Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is a destination that is sure to impress in both the rainy and dry seasons. That’s why clients have chosen this place to build their Costa Rica luxury resorts.
Domes Offer Unique Accommodation
Why choose unique domes as the first choice of Costa Rica luxury resorts? Mainly because of the influence of Costa Rica’s climate.
High-quality PVC Tarpaulin: Guardian in the Rainy Season
During the eight-month rainy season in Costa Rica, the rain and mildew resistance of the tent is particularly important. Our tents are made of high-strength polyester fiber as the base fabric, and the base fabric is coated with PVC. PVC tarpaulin has good tolerance to most acids, alkalis and salts. The PH value of normal rainwater is 5.7, so PVC tarpaulin has a good tolerance to rain. In addition, the surface of the tarpaulin is smooth and self-cleaning, which inhibits the growth of mold.
Curved Exterior Design
The curved exterior design is not only beautiful, but also functional. This design allows the dome to better disperse rainwater and avoid water accumulation. This is particularly important in costa rica glamping. The structure of the domes can disperse pressure well. The translucent design can also maximize the use of natural light, reducing dependence on artificial lighting, which is more environmentally friendly and energy-saving.
Deck Platform: Adapt to Various Terrains
To build the best Costa Rica luxury resort, the terrain must be considered. The base design uses a deck platform.
1. The deck effectively isolates the tent base and prevents damage caused by sharp objects and uneven surfaces. This design can prevent moisture and insect infestation.
2. It can adapt to the terrain in the Costa Rican forest. No additional leveling work is required on the ground, reducing damage to the natural environment.
3. Our modular deck platform adopts a unique pile foundation design to ensure that it will not shift or tilt in strong winds and bad weather conditions.
This innovative design is not only safe, but also reflects respect for the environment.
Costa Rica Luxury Resorts Building Challenges
Building luxury resorts within the tropical forests of Costa Rica presents several challenges. These challenges and their solutions are discussed in detail below.
Challenge 1: Transportation Problems
The roads inside the tropical forests of Costa Rica are rugged and the infrastructure is not perfect. This poses a huge challenge to the transportation of construction materials. If you want to build a luxury resort in Costa Rica, you need to solve the transportation problem.
Solution: Adopt modular design and lightweight materials.
Disassemble large facilities into smaller components for easy transportation. Once on site, these components can be quickly assembled, saving transportation costs and improving construction efficiency. Lightweight PVC tarpaulins are used instead of glass as coverings to further reduce weight and make the transportation process more convenient.
Challenge 2: High humidity in the rainforest
The humidity in the rainforest area of Costa Rica is extremely high. High humidity poses a challenge to building materials and also places requirements on the cleaning and maintenance of tent tarpaulins. In a high-humidity environment, tarpaulins are prone to absorb dust and microorganisms. If they are not cleaned frequently, they will quickly become dirty or moldy, affecting their appearance and service life.
Solution: Use self-cleaning and mildew-resistant PVC tarpaulin.
Choose a PVC tarpaulin with a specially treated surface that is hydrophobic and stain-resistant, which can reduce the adhesion of dust and stains. It also has mildew-resistant properties and can stay clean even in high-humidity environments. Regularly using professional neutral detergents and soft cloths to wipe and maintain can effectively extend the service life of the PVC tarpaulin.
Challenge 3: Hot and Stuffy Indoor Environment
During the hottest season of the year, even with the use of equipment such as solar exhaust fans, the interior of the dome can still feel stuffy, affecting the comfort of visitors.
Solution: Optimize the ventilation design and adopt an efficient cooling system.
The design fully considers natural ventilation, sets skylights and vents, and uses natural wind to promote air circulation. Because the average temperature in Costa Rica is not very high all year round and the hottest period is short, the campsite owner did not choose to install air conditioning. If you want to better reduce the feeling of stuffiness, you can choose to install air conditioning. Or you can choose to install materials with good thermal insulation properties, which can effectively isolate external heat and keep the indoor temperature suitable.
A Perfect Destination to Meet Diverse Needs
Resorts in Costa Rica have become an ideal destination for families, couples and artists.
Family-friendly Resorts in Costa Rica
Resorts are usually located in natural forests, where children can participate in activities such as nature exploration and animal observation under safe guidance. Parents can accompany their children to explore and enhance parent-child relationships. We are committed to creating the best all-inclusive family resorts in Costa Rica, a safe and educational platform for nature exploration.
Costa Rica Honeymoon Resorts
The structure cleverly uses natural light to fill the interior space with warm light, while the surrounding natural landscape becomes a natural backdrop. At night, the transparent skylight inside the dome allows couples to lie in bed and count the stars. If you need privacy, you can draw curtains. Hidden in the rainforest, the dome provides couples with the ultimate privacy and romantic atmosphere.
An Artistic Place for Finding Inspiration
Natural beauty and ecological diversity attract artists to come here to find inspiration. The birdsong in the morning, the light and shadow in the afternoon, and the starry sky at night are all a moving picture, and nature is also the source of artists’ creation.
